Two persons were injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 12:29 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of SR903 and Behrens Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. State police at Lehighton said John B. Haas Jr., 76, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer northbound and attempted to make a left turn onto Behrens Road while Laura E. Gray, 23, also of Jim Thrope, was southbound in a 2001 Kia Rio. Haas turned and struck the left side of the Rio with the front of his Explorer. Gray and her passenger, Aiden Rawlins, 3, of Jim Thorpe, were transported by Lehighton ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries. Hass was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Troopers said Haas was cited for improper or careless turn.
