Jim Thorpe to hold fifth policeman's ball

Published December 06. 2012 05:02PM

The Jim Thorpe Police Department will host its Fifth Annual Policeman's Ball on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Memorial Hall in the community.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight and will include dinner and dancing to entertainment provided by "The Doc" from Penn's Peak Radio.

Last year, the event raised $2,900, which was donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Officer Joseph David, who was injured in the line of duty.

Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Jim Thorpe food banks and the police department.

Persons wanting to donate to the event or wanting to place an advertisement in the program can contact Police Chief Joseph Schatz or secretary Jamie Solomon, 570-325-4995, or borough secretary Louise McClafferty, 570-325-3025.

Tickets for the event can be obtained by contacting the police department or borough office, 101 E. 10th St., Jim Thorpe.
