Louis F. Genther Jr., 72, of Schwenksville, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash Aug. 27 at 1:20 p.m. on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Ford Fusion southbound and was approaching a slight left curve in the roadway when he sneezed and lost control of the vehicle. The car traveled onto the west berm for about 45 feet before entering grass, continuing on the grass for 204 feet before impacting a sign with its passenger's side mirror. Police said the vehicle then continued 87 more feet, traveling through brush and small saplings, then colliding with a tree and coming to a halt.

Police said Genther will be cited for "roadways laned for traffic." The car was towed from the scene.
