Big snake bites little girl

Published August 30. 2012 05:03PM

The father of a four-year-old Lehighton girl had to cut away a pet ball python that had bitten the girl on the chest Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened at 3:10 p.m. as the girl was showing the snake to children down the street from a North Second Street school bus stop.

Police were called to the scene. However, neither police Chief Neal Ebbert nor the officer who handled the incident was available to provide details Thursday morning.
