Tamaqua man injured in crash

Published August 27. 2012 05:02PM

A Tamaqua man who was a passenger in a vehicle was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County on Saturday. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 4:50 p.m. along SR183 in the area of a Burger King restaurant in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Marjorie L. Decker, 55, of Catasauqua, was attempting to make a left hand turn onto 183 after stopping for a stop sign at the restaurant. After the stop she pulled out into heavy traffic and failed to observe a 2002 Dodge Neon, operated by Theodore Domansky, 71, of MaryD, eastbound on 183. Decker's 2011 Hyundai Accent struck the Neon on the passenger side door with the passenger side front.

A passenger with Domansky, Adolph Zelonis, 83, of Tamaqua, sustained injuries to his right arm and elbow and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Jackson St., Pottsville. Decker, Domansky and passengers Mary L. Domansky, 78, and Ruth E. Zelonis, 79, were not injured.

Troopers said Decker was cited for vehicles entering or crossing the roadway.
