Crash probed west of Tamaqua

State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash west of Tamaqua. Troopers said the crash occurred about 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, along SR209 (Valley St.), in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Charles D. Strouse III, 21, of New Philadelphia, was operating a 2001 Subaru Forester northbound toward Tamaqua when he lost control. The car crossed the southbound lane and struck a dirt/rock embankment along the berm, then a tree off the west side.

Strouse was not injured but the vehicle was towed from the scene. Troopers said Strouse will be cited for the crash.
