A motorcyclist was injured in a crash about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, along Beaurys Road, in Foster Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Brett Russel, 50, of Sunbury, Northumberland County, was operating a 2003 Honda southbound when the bike struck a pot hole while rounding a left-hand curve. This caused Russel to lose control of the bike. The bike skidded about 20 feet before Russel laid it on its side and skidded another 60 feet.

Russel sustained a moderate injury, troopers said, and was flown by Lifeflight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Troopers noted he was wearing eye protection but was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear.
