Published August 20. 2012 05:03PM

The Lehighton 9/12 Project will be traveling by bus to Harrisburg on Sept.25 to tell legislators "that no tax should have the power to leave you homeless."

They will be rallying in support of House Bill 1776 - The Property Tax Independence Act.

The rally will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sandra Dellicker, president of the Lehighton 9/12 Project, said the bus will be leaving Carbon Services, 521 Seneca Road, Lehighton, on Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. and the tentative time for leaving Harrisburg is 3 p.m.

The trip will include a tour of the Capitol Building with State Representative Doyle Heffley's staff.

Heffley will be in session and is requesting seating for the Lehighton 9/12 Project in the gallery.

The deadline for making reservations to join the event is Aug. 27.

Dellicker said, "This should be a really great trip. Seating will be limited to one bus, so first come, first serve."

A nominal fee is being charged.
