Schuylkill man facing drug counts

A Schuylkill County man is facing drug charges after two county residences were raided on Thursday with illegal drugs and a gun found.

State police at Frackville said troopers, along with members of Mahanoy City police, and members of the Schuylkill County district attorney's office, raided homes at 638 W. Mahanoy St., and 27 E. Pine St., in Mahanoy City. The raids began about 10:45 a.m.

As a result of those raids, seized was marijuana growing operations located at both locations. Also found in one residence was a loaded firearm. Charged was Alex Colon-Zavala, 49, of Mahanoy City.

He was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver, and possession; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
