Freedom Tree remembers veteran in Weatherly

Local officials and volunteers with the Lehigh and Lausanne (L & L) Fire Company in Weatherly areasking people to never forget fallen veterans. One way they are doing that is by reminding area residents of theFreedom Tree, which was planted on the fire company's grounds on May, 30, 1970 in honor and memory of Vietnam War Captain Samuel O'Donnell Jr., who is still missing in action after losing his plane over Vietnam. The placard below the tree reads: "TheFreedom Tree.
