West Penn police and fire police volunteers detoured all north and southbound lanes of SR309 traffic around a tractor trailer late yesterday morning at the Leiby's intersection (SR309 and SR443) after a young female driver of a Jeep Cherokee crashed into it.

The crash caused the bumper of the tractor trailer to be stuck in the tire well, preventing the trailer from moving.

A witness said the driver of the Jeep, traveling south, turned into oncoming traffic on SR443 east and then into the front of the tractor trailer. No major damage was done to either vehicle. Police and Good Samaritans helped pull the tractor trailer's bumper out of the tire well, which allowed the tractor trailer to move. No serious injuries were reported.
