Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on three crashes investigated by troopers, all occurring in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 6:50 a.m. on July 26 along SR209. Troopers said Joseph M. Marino, 18, of Effort, was driving a 2003 Jeep northbound when he drove off the east shoulder and struck a utility pole.

A two vehicle crash was reported about 9:35 p.m. on July 27 at the intersection of SR209 and SR115. Troopers said Melissa Martinez, 32, of Reading, was northbound and turning onto 209 from 115 while Amanda L. Jones, 30, of Kunkletown, was southbound on 209. Martinez failed to stop for a red ligth and struck Jones' vehicle.

Martinez and two passengers, and Jones, were all not injured.

A one vehicle mishap was reported about 5:24 p.m. along Sugar Hollow at the intersection with SR115. Troopers said Michael J. Chiesa, 19, of Effort, was operating a 1991 Mercedes-Benz northbound on 115 and attempting to turn on to Sugarl Hollow Road and failed to negotiate the turn. His car left the road and struck a billboard support beam along Sugar Hollow Road.

Chiesa was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
