Lehigh bicyclist killed in crash

A Lehigh County bicyclist was killed on Tuesday when his bike collided with a pickup truck. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred about 10:12 a.m. along Bogerstadt Road, at Valley Road, in Weisenberg Township.

Troopers said Andrew Price, 43, of Fogelsville, was operating a 10 speed Thompson Elite bicycle northbound when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign. He entered the intersection where his bike struck the front fender of a 1996 Ford Ranger truck operated by a male juvenile from Kutztown.

After impact Price was thrown from the bike onto the truck and struck the windshield before landing on the ground.

Price was pronounced dead at 11:16 a.m. at the scene by deputy coroner Raymond Anthony. Cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries.

The juvenile driver was not injured.
