Two females facing theft counts

Two females are facing charges of retail theft following an incident that occurred about 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at the Walmart store in Mount Pocono.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were called to the store for a reported theft. On scene police were told that Dawn Schiavone, 25, of Pocono Lake, and Diana Torppey, 25, of Sussex, N.J., attempted to leave the store with various items without paying for them.

They were taken into custody and later released after being issued citations.
