Schuylkill break-ins probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two burglaries and theft incidents that occurred recently at Schuylkill County locations.

A burglary occurred at the residence of Meghan Brennan, 23, of 238 Main St., village of Seltzer, Norwegian Township. Troopers said entry was made sometime between Sept. 29 and Oct. 1. Taken was about $1,900 in U.S. currency.The second break-in occurred at the home of Donald Leroy Hoffman, Stephens Road, Orwigsburg, West Brunswick Township. The criminals gained entry by pushing an air conditioning unit out that was mounted on a first floor window. Once inside the criminals removed a LG Plasma 42-inch screen television, a .22-caliber rife and several pieces of assorted jewelry. The entry occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2.Joseph Michalik, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, reported someone removed a 36-inch white cast aluminum patio table and two matching cast aluminum chairs from a storage barn located across from 1861 Long Run Road (SR443), in Wayne Township. The theft occurred sometime between Sept. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 3.The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder of Christine M. Bartholomew, of Stroudsburg, was entered while parked off SR61 in a lot for the Appalachian Trail in Port Clinton. Entry was gained by smashing the front driver side window. Removed from the vehicle as an Apple iPod classic and a Garmin GPS. Total estimated value for the missing items was set at $430.The entry occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
