Jukebox Cruisers opens Phifer Ice Dam Cruise Nights on Friday

Published April 27. 2012 09:48AM

Jukebox Cruisers will hold a car cruise from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Phifer Ice Dam Park in Franklin Township.

Just say, "car club" and you'll think of shiny, chrome-laden motor vehicles of days gone by on display and cruising the highways. This is your opportunity to see the real "metal" cars in all their glory.

Jukebox Cruisers devote a lot of time and effort to helping out others in need. The club has motto of "turning our passion for cars into compassion for others," by helping financially donate to a variety of local and national charities.

Among the charitable organizations that they hold fundraising cruises for are: Men of Marian, Lehighton Celebration, Penn Cruise for the Armed Forces, Lehighton Ford for Relay for Life, Carbon County Friends of Animals, United Way, Maple Shade Personal Home, Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club, and Jim Thorpe Little League.

Jukebox Cruisers also participate in various parades, including the Lehighton Halloween Parade, the Lansford Halloween Parade, and the Veterans Day Parade.

The club will continue to hold cruises on the last Friday of each month throughout the summer season from April to September at the Phifer Ice Dam to help raise funds for charities. 2012 dates are April 27, May 25, June 15, July 27 and Aug. 31.

Cruise are free and open to the public. Franklin Township Lions Club will offer refreshments in the pavilion during the event.
