Emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Barnesville Drive, SR54, (Ryan Township), Pine Creek Drive (Rush Township) and Fairview Street, following a three vehicle accident that occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sunday in Barnesville. The accident involved a maroon Nissan Maxima, maroon Saturn station wagon and a blue Chevy Cruze. A woman was treated for minor injuries. Responding were firefighters from Hometown, Delano, Barnesville and Mahanoy City. Also responding were Tamaqua ambulance and Rush Township and Ryan Township police. Fire police directed traffic around that section of SR54 during the response and cleanup. No serious injuries were reported. No more information about the cause or individuals involved was available as of press time today.
