Tamaqua students are preparing for their Independent Film Festival next month. Organizers state the event gives a chance for students to express their creative ideas and thoughts via theatre and film. Organizers also encourage the public to come, as well as for all visitors to dress in 1970's cinema attire. They pointed out that wearing 70's attire is not required, but would make the event even more enjoyable. The festival will be held in the Tamaqua Area School District Auditorium on May 18 starting at 7 p.m. Students from the Tamaqua High School Acting Class prepare for their part in the "IF Festival." Their film will be called "Escape From Holiday Mountain." Being recorded by Chanming Pooriyapun, 16, are fellow classmates, from left, Stephen Billet, 15, Ronnie Olesnovich, 17, Lance Williams, 18, Amanda Heffelfinger, 17, and Laura Anderson, 16.
