Motorcyclist hurt on Rt. 248

Palmerton Police, Palmerton Community Ambulance, Lehighton ALS, and Pennsylvania State Police assisted John Reppert, 22, of Palmerton, after he was involved in an accident that occurred at 1:53 p.m. Thursday. Police said Reppert was operating his Black Star Motorcycle west onto Route 248 when he lost control and crashed into the mirror of a Hyundai Tiburon operated by Ashley Schmieding, 22, of Kunkletown. Palmerton Police Chief Randy Smith (first from left) and officer Trevor Flexer (second from left) take down information from the scene of the accident. Directly in front of them is the Black Star motorcycle that was involved in the mishap.
