Published April 20. 2012 05:01PM

A New Ringgold man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after being found illegally fishing on property owned by the West Penn Rod and Gun Club.

John Brode, a member of the club, contacted police at 9:15 a.m. last Friday to report that someone had broken into his recreational vehicle, which was parked on club property off SR309.

At the scene, officers found Robert Maurice Valentine of 41 Rocky Lane, New Ringgold, who was fishing and visibly intoxicated. Valentine denied having any connection to the burglary, but was taken into custody on three bench warrants from Tamaqua Police and the Schuylkill County Detectives office.

Valentine was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier.
