Officials are taking the threat of forest fires serious since conditions are perfect due to high winds and the lack of rain. Here a sign notifies motorists along Cherry Hill Road in the Borough of Parryville that a burn ban is in effect for 30 days. Over the past several weeks local fire companies as well as members of the Department of Forestry have been plagued with brush and forest fires throughout the area. Officials emphasized that common sense could have eliminated many of the fires. The burn ban was issued by the Parryville Fire Department.
