A Dauphin County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash that occurred about 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, along Scwenks Road, near Gap School Road, in Hegins, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kyle T. Yeagley, 27, of Gratz, was operating a 2005 Harley-Davidson XL883 southbound when, for unknown reasons, the bike left the road and traveled about 28 feet before striking a tree.

After impact with the tree the bike re-entered the road and traveled about 28 more feet before it went onto its right side. At this point Yeagley was thrown from the bike and traveled about 18 feet continuing south. The bike then crossed into the oncoming lane and traveled about 16 feet before coming to rest.

Yeagley was taken to the Hershey Medical Center by Hegins ambulance. The investigation into the crash is continuing and charges are pending against Yeagley, troopers said.
