Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence, and an attempted break-in at a Monroe County church.

Troopers said the home of James J. Boyle, 47, of 7 Parker Ave., Towamensing Trails, Albrightsville, Carbon County, was entered by forcing open a side door. Once inside a vacuum cleaner and air conditioner unit were removed.

The incident occurred sometime between 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, and 4 p.m. Saturday.

The attempted break-in occurred at the Zion United Lutheran Church, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said unknown criminals forcibly removed a screen from a window at the parish hall but did not enter.

The incident occurred sometime between March 20 and April 5.

Robert Bruce Sargant, 48, of Stroudsburg, reported the registration plate on his 1988 International truck was stolen while parked in the driveway at 285 Frailey Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. The theft occurred sometime between April 8-11.
