Published April 13. 2012 05:01PM

A Monroe County man is facing several charges and his mother was also cited for interfering in his arrest. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident began about 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.

Police said they attempted to stop Eudell Semple, 23, of 5544 Seminole Trail, Pocono Farms East, in Tobyhanna, for a motor vehicle code violation. Semple refused to stop and fled to his residence.

At that location Semple refused commands given by police and was taken into custody. While being taken into custody a female resident of the home, later identified as Bernadette Semple, 50, the defendants' mother, interfered in the arrest. She was also taken into custody.

Bernadette Semple was taken to police headquarters and charged with hindering apprehension, processed and released. Eudell Semple was charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and several motor vehicle code violations.

He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment, police said.
