Community cleanup Saturday and Sunday in Tamaqua

Published April 12. 2012 05:00PM

Tamaqua Boy/Girl Scouts, as well as other participating organizations, are looking for help during their community cleanup scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday in Tamaqua. On Saturday, all volunteers will be meeting at North and Middleward Playground, Washington Street, at 9 a.m. Volunteers will then spread playground mulch, rake leaves, clean up garbage and perform any other needed tasks. Organizers added that if the weather is warm enough, they may also be doing some painting. Organizers also ask volunteers to bring wear old clothes and bring rakes, if possible. On Sunday, depending on weather conditions, volunteers are encouraged to meet behind the Boyers Food Market, Cedar Street, at 9 a.m. to take part in the Little Schuylkill river bank and community cleanup. If it rains, the event will be postponed.
