A Lehigh County motorcyclist, who was seriously injured in a crash on March 17 in Monroe County, has died of those injuries.

State police at Lehighton said Dallas Seidel, 35, of Emmaus, died on Monday in hospice care.

Troopers said the crash occurred about 11:38 p.m. along Chestnut Drive in Ross Township. Seidel was operating a 1997 Harley-Davidson FXSTC Soft Trail cycle westbound at an excessive rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a right curve. He lost control of the bike which crossed over into the eastbound lane and onto the berm and into a yard.

Seidel was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was wearing a helmet.

Trooper said tests showed that Seidel was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
