St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 123 W. White Street, Summit Hill, will be hosting a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 21. The blood drive, held in remembrance of Paige Rex, is being held in conjunction with Miller-Keystone Blood Center."Over 500 units of blood are needed each day by the hospitals in our area," says Marie D'Amato, donor resources representative. "The Blood Center is grateful to St. Paul's Lutheran Church for their commitment to our regional blood supply, and we urge all local residents to support a vital community service by donating at this blood drive." In order to donate, individuals must be 17 years of age or older, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be feeling healthy; they must not have donated in the past eight weeks. All donors must also provide valid identification; ID must have the donor's name printed on it, as well as a photo and/or signature. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are welcome at this blood drive. For more information or to preregister for donation, call (570) 645-7564.
