Ashland woman jailed in Carbon
Nicole M. Shoop, 27, of Ashland, has been committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, on various charges stemming from an incident on April 4 at 4:30 p.m. in East Penn Township.
State police at the Lehighton barracks said they were called to 39 Lauchnor Grove Lane in the township when Shoop was involved in a domestic dispute with a 31-year-old male and a 25-year-old female, both from Lehighton. Police said when they arrested Shoop for allegedly assaulting the victims, she resisted arrest and kicked a trooper's legs. Once she was placed into the patrol car, Shoop kicked the head rest of a front seat, causing the seat to be damaged.
Police charged her with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek and committed to jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. April 11 before Magisterial District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
