Lehighton man gets probation for DUI

A Lehighton man was placed on probation on a drunk driving charge on Thursday in Carbon County court.

Geno Tessitore, 24, of was placed by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb for 90 days on the charge and ordered to pay a fine of $300, and court costs.

Tessitore was arrested on May 24, 2009, along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .09BAC. It was his first offense.

The case took a long time to make it to sentencing. There were at least 20 continuances in the case. On March 9 a bench trial was held before Webb in which he found Tessitore not guilty of one count of DUI but guilty of a second count.
