A Schuylkill County teen driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, along N. West Lawn Road, in Branch Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 17-year-old male from Pottsville was driving a 1994 Saturn SC2 southbound and approaching the intersection of the Minersville/Llewellyn highway when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign.

He began making a left turn to go east and lost control. The car traveled onto the south berm where it collided with a concrete culvert.

The teen was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. The car had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers said the teen was cited for the stop sign violation.
