A fresh coat of paint

Published April 05. 2012 05:02PM

A number of dedicated volunteers spent numerous hours over the past few days painting the large downstairs wall and ceiling of the new Tamaqua Community Arts Center. Volunteers were successful in completing it in preparation for tomorrow's first weekly arts and crafts class to be held at the center, 125 Pine St. The class, which lasts from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., is open to children in grades kindergarten through third grade and will continue each Thursday through the summer as well. Center director Micah Gursky stated his appreciation to all who donated paint supplies and spent many hours painting. For more information, contact Gursky at (570) 668-6899 or via the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership website, Covered in paint splatter, RoseJean Zucuskie stands on a step ladder to reach higher spots.
