Two persons were injured Wednesday afternoon in a rear-end collision at the intersection of Jamestown Road and SR209 in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred at 4:15 p.m. as a car with two occupants was attempting to make a left turn off of SR209 south onto Jamestown Road when it was struck by a Carbon County Community Transport bus also traveling south. The force of the impact drove the car up onto a private lot. The two victims were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to an area hospital. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
