A Monroe County driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Carbon County that occurred about 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Pichate Leeyawanich, 71, of Pocono Lake, was on the on-ramp to the interstate when his 2011 Nissan Rogue went onto the berm and struck the concrete base to the guard rail.

He was taken by Lake Harmony ambulance to the Geisinger Wyoming Medical Center, Plains Township, for treatment of unknown type injuries, troopers said. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 7:16 a.m. on Sept. 22 along State Road at the intersection with Sugar Hollow Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Susan L. Hardy, 43, of Albrightsville, was operating a 2004 Subaru Forester when it left the road and struck a utility pole along the berm. Hardy sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.

Troopers cited Hardy for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
