As smoke seeps through broken windows, Tamaqua Fire Chief Tom Hartz Jr. pauses to assess damage to the White Diner, an area landmark that dates back to 1932. The diner was built from original trolley cars from the Tamaqua and Lansford Street Railway system. The building also incorporates elements of a former gas station.
