A Barnesville motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a crash with a Jeep along State Road, near Church Road, in Ryan Township, in which alcohol may have been a factor.
State police at Frackville identified the victim as Jeffrey Donnelly, 51.
According to troopers, Edward O'Boyle, 38, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee northbound and negotiating a right curve about 7:04 p.m. Troopers said Donnelly was driving a Yamaha motorcycle southbound and negotiating a left curve.
Troopers said the Jeep entered the bike's lane of travel and the two collided. After impact the two vehicles came to rest on the west shoulder.
Troopers said Donnelly was taken to a nearby landing site where a medical helicopter flew him to a Lehigh Valley area hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Troopers added that O'Boyle showed signs of intoxication and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-St. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.
Charges are pending the test results.
