Rep. Barletta pledges to work hard to bring resources to flood victims

Published September 12. 2011 08:28AM

Rep. Lou Barletta, PA-11, issued the following statement:

"As the waters crest and slowly start to fall, my thoughts are with the people who lost so much during these historic floods in the 11th District and across Pennsylvania. Last night, I toured areas coping with the fast-rising waters, and I met some people who are affected by the floods. I saw the early stages of devastation. But I also saw hope and determination. I saw people who are determined to recover from this epic event. And I also saw the best of ourselves - people who were volunteering their time at evacuation shelters, or helping their neighbors evacuate their flooding homes, or giving of their time for complete strangers.

"I'm going to work very hard to bring the much-needed resources of the federal government to Northeastern Pennsylvania. I'm continuing to work with my friends and partners on the state and local levels. And I'm going to continue touring the affected areas so the federal government truly understands the devastation my constituents suffered."
