Immaculate Conception church to hold picnic

Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe, will hold its annual old-fashioned picnic on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Memorial Park, Jim Thorpe.

The festivities will get underway at 11:30 a.m. and continue through six o'clock that evening.

The entertainment schedule includes the Kerry Irish Dancers and disc jockey Monroe Berger, who will provide music for dancing and listening pleasure from 2:30 p.m. until the picnic closes.

An old-fashioned cakewalk will begin at 1 p.m., offering picnic-goers the opportunity to win delicacies and other prizes. Children's games will also be offered.

Throughout the afternoon, a number of picnic foods will be available, including hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, haluski, pierogies, soups, hamburger barbecue, chili, chicken fingers and french fries. A dessert table will feature cake and ice cream.
