Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville, recently collected $400 to help build the Palmerton Veterans Memorial, which will be dedicated Nov. 11 in the Palmerton Borough Park. From left are, Dick Nothstein, Palmerton Borough Council John Uhnak, first vice commander; Norman Berger, representing the church; Robert Solt, Sgt. at Arms; Harry Brown, committee member and Ed Moyer, Legion commander. The Palmerton United Veteran's Organization and the borough plan to build the memorial to honor all of the Palmerton area servicemen and women as a tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and to those who served to preserve our freedom. The monument will mark the 100-year celebration of the borough. For more information about the monument, contact Uhnak at (610) 826-2902, or onlyelvs@ptd.net, Moyer at (610) 504-6680, or tecked@ptd.net, or Nothstein at (610) 826-7339, or dnd1@ptd.net.
