Woman arrested in Long Pond
The Pocono Mountain Regional Police filed charges of public drunkenness and made a drug arrest.
Charges were filed against Sharon P. Palka, 26 of Long Pond and filed through Magistrate Claypool's office for public drunkenness. On Thursday, Aug. 25 at 3:04 a.m., Pocono Mountain Regional Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle parked in the northbound lane of Long Pond Road near Richard Drive with nobody around it. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Palka passed out in the back seat and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Palka's person. Palka stated that she thought she was parked in her driveway, howerver officers advised he she was parked in the roadway. She was taken home and released to her mother.
On Sept. 1 at 1 p.m., the police stopped a silver Audi when they observed a New Jersey State inspection on a Pennsylvania registerd vehicle. Police spoke with the driver of the vehicle, Orrett Mcfarlane, 19 of Long Pond. While speaking with Mcfarlane, police detected the odor of marijuana coming form inside of the vehicle. After a brief investigation, Mcfarlane was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charles will be filed through District Court in Pocono Pines.
