State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating a rock-throwing incident in which two vehicles traveling on Interstate 81 in Kline Township were damaged.

The victims are Crete Carrier Corporation, Lincoln, Neb., and David Lee McAnnaney, 56, of Wilburton.

The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Aug. 31 in the area of milemarker 138 in the township. Police said an Alice Glover was operating a 2010 International truck and trailer north on the interstate when she observed a juvenile throwing an unknown object at the vehicle, causing damage to the right side of the hood. The driver reported seeing a juvenile male on the right side of the road. Two other juvenile males were also present, police said.

McAnnaney was traveling south on the interstate in a 2005 Dodge Ram when the vehicle was struck by a rock that had been thrown from the right side of the road. The rock smashed the passenger-side front door window of the truck and was found on the floor of the vehicle in front of the seat.
