Pleasant Valley, Marian breeze to golf wins

Pleasant Valley and Marian both posted victories in golf action on Wednesday.


Lehighton-Pleasant Vy.

Pleasant Valley picked up its fourth win of the year by defeating Lehighton, 20 1/2-3 1/2 in Mountain Valley Conference golf action.

The Bears' (4-1) Kyle Adamonis was the medalist on the day with an 80. He won his respective match 3-0. Teammates Jim Lavender, Colin Cook, Elliot Custred and Jeff Olah also won by 3-0 scores.

Lehighton's (1-3) only win came from Jake Hoats. He won 3-0.

Marian improved to 6-0 on the golf season by knocking off both Williams Valley and Mahanoy Area with a 329 score.

Eric Mason led the locals with an 81. Teammates Mike Gottstein (82), Mark Postupack (83) and Josh Green (83) all went low as well.

Liberty blanked Pleasant Valley on the tennis court, shuting out the Lady Bears 7-0.

No Bear won a set on the day, however No. 2 singles player Sara Elmontacir and doubles team Madison Olexson/Kara Urland pushed their respective opponents to the limit in their second sets.
