Arrest made in stolen bike case

Jim Thorpe police have arrested Charles H. Hemmen, 24, of Ambler, Pa., on charges of theft and receiving stolen property stemming from the investigation of a stolen mountain bike incident that happened in the borough on July 24.

Police said it was reported to them at 11:54 a.m. on the above date by Kenneth Hurley, 421 Center St., that someone stole his Trek Navigator bike worth $600 by removing it from his front porch.

Through the investigation, police said they learned Hemmen was seen riding the bike.

Upon questioning, the man admitted to the theft.
