Ribbon cutting celebrates renovations at Lehighton Ford

Published October 29. 2011 09:01AM

In an economy where layoffs and downsizing have become prominent, Lehighton Ford has become the exception to the rule.

Since Jan. 1, 2011, the Lehighton dealership has hired five new employees and with a 20 percent increase in sales, co-owner Kent Newhart is still looking to hire.

With the recent buyout of Mercury, Lehighton Ford invested every dollar back into the dealership to hire more employees and to complete renovations to create a customer-friendly environment.

"Instead of a lost franchise, we invested in the facility, dealership, and people," states Newhart.

In order to complete these renovations, Newhart hired all local contractors so that he could reinvest in the community that supports his business.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will kick off a three-day celebration starting at 2 p. m. Thursday Nov. 3. On Friday, Nov. 4, there will be an invitation only private tour of the new dealership renovations from 4 to 8 p. m. The public re-opening celebration is on Saturday Nov. 5. All events will take place at Lehighton Ford, 54 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.
