Garden club

The South Schuylkill Garden Club will meet Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m., at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Dock Street, Schuylkill Haven. The evening will include a presentation from Helen Moyer, who will demonstrate holiday designs for the home, using festive greens.

The public is welcome to attend and participate in the educational and social session. For more information, or to reserve a seat, contact President Carol Haldeman at (570) 345-2423. New members are welcome.

Tamaqua Halloween

Tamaqua's annual Halloween Parade will be held Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., with a raid date of Oct. 26.

Mayor Chris Morrison has designated Monday, Oct. 31 as Trick or Treat Night in Tamaqua. Hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Residents willing to offer treats to the tricksters are reminded to turn on their porch/exterior lights.

Zion Lewistown

The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service this Rally Day Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. Gospel music will be provided by the Brothers in Grace. The service will be followed by a covered dish meal.

The Fundraising Committee will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The Preschool Board will also meet Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided.

Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, a new members class will meet at 9:30 a.m.

Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, Prayer time at 8:30 a.m., Tamaqua Youth Ministry will meet at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, Men's Fraternity will meet at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, CareNet bake sale at Wal-Mart at 8 a.m., Musician rehearsal at 9 a.m., Praise practice at 9:30 a.m. and the quilters will meet at 10:30 a.m.

New Life blessings

The Blessings Shop at New Life Assembly of God Church, 407 Schuylkill Ave., will be open this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop offers free clothing and shoes to anyone in need.

Schuylkill Democrats

The Eastern Schuylkill Democrats will meet Monday, at 7:30 p.m., at the East End Fire Company, Tamaqua. The public is welcome to attend.
