Sheriff candidate clarifies comments made in CC debate

Published October 19. 2011 05:02PM

Steven Armbruster, Republican candidate for Carbon County Sheriff responded to the TIMES NEWS story about the Carbon County debate.

Armbruster said that he did not state that he wouldn't require people to be residents of Carbon County in order to register a firearm. He said that he would not require references listed on permit applications to be residents of Carbon County. He used the example of a single mom from Northampton County moving to Carbon County as an illustration of somebody who might not have in-county references to list on the application.

The TIMES NEWS regrets the error.
