Four persons were injured, with two flown to a trauma center, in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, along SR54 at Morea Road, in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Taime Willey, 19, of Camp Hill, Cumberland County, was westbound and attempted to turn left onto the Morea Road and pulled into the path of a eastbound vehicle operated by Rachelle Cuff, 35, of Shenandoah. The front of Cuff's 2010 Nissan Maxima struck the passenger side of Willey's 2004 Saturn Ion.
Willey and three passengers with her, Kyle Gregor, 19, and Jessica Stevick, 19, both of Enola, and Julia Smith, 18, of Newport were all injured. Stevick and Smith were flown by LifeFlight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with what troopers said were moderate injuries. Willey sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene while Gregor was taken to St. Luke' Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. Stevick and Smith had to be extricated from the vehicle by volunteers from the West End Fire Company, Mahanoy City.
Cuff, and two six-year-old male juveniles with her, were not injured.
Also on scene were ambulances and rescue squads from Mahanoy City, Shenandoah and Ryan Township.
Troopers said Willey will be cited for causing the crash.
