Pennsylvania American Water and the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC) invites the public to attend a ceremony to celebrate the opening of five Pennsylvania American Water reservoirs in Lackawanna County for public fishing. The five new reservoirs that will be open include Curtis, Dunmore No. 1, Elmhurst, Griffin, and Maple Lake.

The ceremony will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct 27 at Curtis Reservoir.

From Moscow, travel North on Route 435 to Elmhurst, turn right onto Route 590/Hollisterville Road, travel East on 590 and turn right onto Reservoir Road after you pass Elmhurst Reservoir, then travel a short distance on Reservoir Road to the small parking area on the left just past Curtis Reservoir.

The creation of these new public fishing areas was the result of a partnership between Pennsylvania American Water and the Fish and Boat Commission.

"We are very fortunate in this area to benefit from so many natural resources ," stated Dan Hufton, senior director, production, Pennsylvania American Water. "Pennsylvania American Water is proud to partner with the Fish and Boat Commission to offer residents of Northeast Pennsylvania access to fishing along the shoreline of these five reservoirs."
