Damaged Tamaqua hydrant replaced

Tamaqua Borough and Water Authority workers prepare to replace a fire hydrant on Willing Street after it was damaged when struck by a 2011 Kia Sorrento. The Kia was being operated by Joseph B. Evans, 60, of 313 Mountaintop Rd., Summit Hill, at 10:40 a.m. Monday when Evans suffered some type of medical episode and lost control. Evans was transported to St. Luke's MIners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, then airlifted to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.
