A Monroe County man is facing a charge of theft by deception following an incident involving a credit card.

State police at Fern Ridge said on Feb. 14 a 61-year-old man from Albrightsville, Tobyhanna Township, reported he received his monthly credit card bill and notice purchases made using it which were not authorized by him. The transactions were made at the Dollar General store and D&D Cigarette Emporium.

The victim viewed surveillance footage from the transactions and was able to positively identify Ludwig Auch-Schwelk, 45, of Albrightsville, as the person using the card. Three purchases were made totaling $193.50. Auch-Schwelk has been charged.
