A broken pintle hitch was to blame yesterday afternoon for an overturned flatbed trailer carrying an extended offroad boom forklift. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of School Drive and Orchard Road in West Penn Township, took two heavy duty boom trucks to recover the overturned trailer and forklift. West Penn township workers also responded to repair a deep gouge in the road made by the overturned trailer. Responding were West Penn police and firefighters. West Penn Fire Police helped police detour traffic around the scene. No injuries were reported.
